The ever-growing number of cars on our roads creates numerous traffic-related problems for society. Fortunately, ICT technologies can help resolve many of these problems, for example, reducing energy consumption and cutting traffic-related pollution. ICTs can also help traffic flow more smoothly which not only contributes to greater energy efficiency but also improves road safety. this conference examines the role of ICTs in respose to Canada's ambitious goal of reducing road fatalities by 50% by 2010.
